It’s official. Going to Trader Joe’s is my favorite hobby. I went today to grab a few things that I needed and I think it’ll last me about two weeks. I don’t eat at home too often since I have a meal plan at school and sometimes have lunch catered at work. I usually buy enough to make three two different meals that have about three to four servings each, and that lasts me about 10-14 days.
I already have some staples like frozen veggies, rice, pasta and sauce, non dairy yogurt, and spices.
Today I got the following
- Two sweet potatoes
- Two cans of black beans
- Two blocks of tofu
- One bag of frozen corn
- BBQ sauce
- A box of oatmeal
- A box of granola bars
- Frozen chocolate covered bananas
- Toilet paper (necessities)
- Two RX bars
The first five items I used for a fun recipe which I will make another post about. I use tofu as my main source of protein and these big blocks of it usually last me about a week each. I used to have oatmeal every morning and I got super sick of it, but I’m giving these packets a try because they’re pecan pumpkin flavored and I’m #basic. The granola bars make for a good preworkout snack and the RX bars I use as a meal replacement if I have a really busy day. I eat the chocolate covered bananas for my nightly sweet treat.
I use the guacamole as a healthy fat source for my tofu, rice, beans and veggie meals that I make for quick lunches every week and these “guacamole to go” packets. I was feeling like having some fruit this week so that’s why I bought the cantaloupe and raspberries.
I know this doesn’t seem like much but again, I don’t eat at home a lot so this is all I need for now. Once I’m done with school and need to cook more often I’ll share bigger hauls and more recipes!
